Usually when I am bored I like to write down what I think about stuff, it makes me feel better.
Topic: Rift
Lets start by Riftwalker:
Quote:
Manipulator of the forbidden arts, she reaches into the realms of the ancient evils. She seeks to discover more secrets that the Legion has forgotten, lest the Elder Gods awaken. Tapping into the darkness, she draws forth unholy power to aid the hordes of her liege. Do not let her pleasant demeanor fool you. The Riftwalker fears nothing and will serve only those who will aid her mad quest for power.
And then we have Grinex:
Quote:
For many years, stories have been told in Newerth of a place where unimaginable creatures live in perpetual darkness known as the Great Rift. Many on Newerth have attempted to commune with this place of power and Valreia the Riftwalker is one of the few who is known to have succeeded. Since the Hellbourne enlisted her help in the war against the Legion, rifts have been opening in various parts of Newerth and a great creature has made its way through. Even in the darkness of the Great Rift, there's terror and this creature known only as Grinex is the embodiment of fear. Trapped in a strange new world, this evil power seeks the Riftwalker, as she represents his only chance to escape from this wretched land. Using the Great Rift's power should not be taken lightly and this mere human has grown arrogant. Her time grows short as Grinex approaches from the shadows!
So, let me get back to business. I will speculate a lot. Prepare your A*cough*irplanes.
What is the rift? It is a very dark world where many weird creatures live obviously- "doh I just read it dude.
I am imagining the rift to be like a mirror reality, or a Contrast of the real world lets say.
Most contrast/inverted pictures have opposite colors from the original. I believe the rift only has the colors of green, blue and purple.
Most creatures that live there have developed to the point where they can live with no problems. They gained nightvision, stealth ability.
And many of the utilize trickery also. Don't think they're just a stupid bunch like the Armadon's tribe. They're very intelligent and cunning.
Why is that you may think? Well the rift isn't exactly the nicest of places... You have bloodsucking flowers, Poisonous swamps, stronger neutral creeps(aggressive), towers that are alive and don't really care about you. (someone also ate the meatball)
Towers are wormlike creatures that are very hungry and only care about survival, since you are their teammate you won't be targeted. (they always target enemy heroes)
They also do AoE sweeps around if many heroes are attacking it at one dealing low damage and high knockback.
Many neutral camps attack you on sight and some of them will explode dealing damage equal of their remaining life if not killed fast enough.
Many tree's are known to be hungry for flesh, they spawn randomly and will target heroes and ensnare then for 2 seconds and bite 10% health out of them.(can be chopped down)
Water is mud, all movespeed is reduced by 10%. There is an unkillable aligatorshark fish that tries to kill you every time it sees you. It circles around the kongor pit.
Kongor gets corrupted all heroes that pass before his pit can get hooked by his vines that are coming out of his mouth. It seems some plant creature took over kong ._.
Wards don't exist. Like who the hell has wards in rift? You got a baby glowing mantis firefly. Those cute little, adorable deadly thing are very dangerous and have very sharp claws that you use to attach to the tree to give vision in half of the AoE of a ward. (they bite you every 5sec for 25 health for each one you carry)
The creeps, or should we call them crifts. Are little pesky creatures that are neutral to you and your enemy. If you try to block them they will attack you. They only care about the destruction of the other tribe crifts and will attack anything that stands in their way. There are no ballistas (why should that advanced technology be available in the rift?) You have Hunter-Crifts those bigger bulkier crifts only target the closest hero. The base...What is the base? Its a giant tear in the rift, its a Portal! Everyone came from that portal and if it was destroyed than you wouldn't be able to go back home! How terrible! Who loses his portal will stay forever in the rift and die. The other tribe get an infinitely open portal where they can pass through as they like and can farm resources for their battul!
this is what I actually expected it to be like. Pretty much HARDCORE-Forest of caldavar (damn I love the sounds of that!)
So what did you expect the great rift to be like? Share your opinions, discuss! :D
(also forgot to mention that time in the rift is much faster than in real world, staying 10 years in the rift is like 1 seconds IRL)
(that is why when riftwalker ults she walks back to the spot she selected than emerges and she stuns everyone because of the sudden tear in the dimmension, and thats why its seems like 0.000001second teleportation)
