What is going on with servers lately? Game is barely playable! In the middle of battle, I get disconnect icon and head back home. This happens in EVERY game, multiple times. Pure pleasure from game is long gone...
What is the matter? It wasn't like this before. Are you going to fix that, or I should wait for Blizzard?!
Been playing the game since beta, but this is really annoying!

This part of watching the replay will give you a major treasure trove of information, not only on how opponents play, but as an aid to learning about your impact on the game and more about your own play. When watching from an enemy's point of view, keep in mind that he/she will not have the same vision and knowledge your team has! Also keep an open mind when in this view, as you can of course also learn a new thing or few on heroes you may not be aware of. This guide will be focused on how to use the enemy's view to evaluate your own performance and how to improve on it.
The Picking Phase
Even though voice chat is common, type chat is still often used and can offer you a lot of information on this very important part of the game. This is what I like to look for in this part of the match:
If you picked early, did the enemy team talk about or show potential counters to your hero? This is often an indicator of how much of a threat the enemy team believes you and/or your hero to be.
If you picked later, did the enemy team make any guesses as to what you picked? Did they guess correctly or incorrectly? Think about what their guess, being either correct or incorrect, tells about you as a player and how you picked.
Even though your pick or yourself may not have been mentioned, do not believe you're in the wrong in any manner. A lot of reaction to picks in matchmaking games comes after the picking phase, as teams are often too focused on their own picks to really notice. So be sure to check at the start of the game for such information as well! Enemies may also respond "haha, they have bad team" and such. If such comments occur, analyze how they played against you and if such thoughts caused them to be careless.
Laning Phase
As mentioned above, see how the enemy heroes played against you.
Did they react to your starting items?
Did they play aggressive or defensive against you? (Also note any mention on whether you should be the targets in case they decide to engage)
Look for reaction messages to how you played. Notes such as "That hero really hurts!" or "She's laying on so much harass on me..." are good for picking out your own strengths in the laning phase. Communication such as "We're going to need a gank" or "We're winning our lane" are signals of how enemies view your play as well.
As in other parts of this guide, look for goal-orientated messaging and how you impacted your enemy's goals from their view. If your opponent was looking to farm, did he/she still feel comfortable going for the Runed Axe or Alchemist Bones or did he/she make complaints that the conditions you placed on the lane made it difficult? Did your positioning and play make it difficult for their players to meet goals such as warding, going for the runes, etc.?
As the Game Goes On
These are key components of the game that apply to the laning phase, but also throughout the remainder of the match:
Enemy Vision. More experienced players will have a better grasp on knowing when they're in enemy vision and when they are not. Were you not really hidden in the trees/fog as you believed yourself to be? Also use replays to learn about common ward placements and how they impacted the match. Count up how many times you took a chance, but actually walked through enemy vision. Also think about the times at which you died and think about how much a factor enemy vision on you was in that outcome.
For supports/initiators: Look to see if opponents saw you place wards or preparing to initiate and their reactions to it. Did you place wards in a way that was very obvious? Did you counter wards from downhill, allowing enemies to get an idea of your own ward placements?
Positioning. When it comes to fights/ganks, use the enemy perspective to analyze your positioning in a fight. Did they hesitate because they could not find you? Were they forced to focus on you as a durable hero because you positioned yourself so you couldn't be ignored? Or were you a hero who couldn't be focused on even though opponents needed to because you were positioned correctly in the trees/fog? Look for messages such as "Why did we focus the durable hero?" or "We were supposed to focus X Hero!". On the contrary, if fights did not work out in your favor, look at how the opponents played against you. Were you too close, allowing the enemy to use powerful ultimates on you and either disable and/or kill you before you could make an impact?
Ability/Item Usage. We've all heard this complaint - "Omg, enemy Succubus ult me every time!" Even though you can evaluate your own target priority and impact from your perspective during a match or replay, you can learn more about why from the opposing team's view. Was their carry struggling against your physical damage output as Predator? Were your Tempest ults so small they did not think you were worth the effort? When enemies use Sheepstick and other major items/abilities against you, consider if the enemy team communicated to focus you down. Usually when this happens, it means you're doing things correctly, but it may also mean you were so out of position, the enemy team expected to kill you off and land such a hard blow on your team that their items being on cooldown to do so didn't matter.
Goals. As mentioned earlier, look for your impact on the enemy reaching their goals. Did you dying help them get the towers they needed? Did you farm well enough that they could not be as aggressive as they wanted to be? Did your countering of their wards prevent gankers from ganking, farmers from farming, etc.? Etc. When looking from the opposing team's view, keep in mind the progress of your own team on its goals as you analyze the opponents and how they're doing on their goals!
Evaluating Your Own Impact
As you review the match from the opposing team's view, make sure to continuously think about how much impact you're making on the game you are reviewing. If at any point you feel opponents regard you as a non-factor, think about how you could have done things differently.
Thanks for reading! All feedback is appreciated! Part 4 will be out on Thursday. ^^
"game a day" bonus received for playing first game in a day is not correctly reset when it should be. If this bonus should be reseted, then it will always give 25 silver (best possible reward) instead of basic 8 silver.
How to reproduce:
I will use days in week and times for better understanding.
1) Play a game at monday at 15:00, dont care about "game a day" reward now.
2) Play a game at tuesday at 15:00, you will receive stacking "game a day" reward (max is +25 silver).
3) Dont play any game at wednesday.
4) Dont play any game at thursday.
5) Play a game at friday at 15:00, you will receive +25 silver coins from "game a day" bonus.
6) Play a game at saturday at 15:00, you will receive +8 silver coins from "game a day" bonus.
7) Dont play any game at sunday.
8) Dont play any game at monday.
9) Play a game at tuesday at 15:00, you will receive +25 silver coins from "game a day" bonus.
10) Play a game at wednesday at 15:00, you will receive +8 silver coins from "game a day" bonus.
If you play games every day, it is stacking correctly, problem is with when that "game a day" bonus is reset.
How it should work (based on same days as previous example):
1) Play a game at monday at 15:00, dont care about "game a day" reward now.
2) Play a game at tuesday at 15:00, you will receive stacking "game a day" reward (max +25 silver).
3) Dont play any game at wednesday.
4) Dont play any game at thursday.
5) Play a game at friday at 15:00, you will receive +8 silver coins from "game a day" bonus.
6) Play a game at saturday at 15:00, you will receive stacking "game a day" bonus (I think its +10 silver).
7) Dont play any game at sunday.
8) Dont play any game at monday.
9) Play a game at tuesday at 15:00, you will receive +8 silver coins from "game a day" bonus.
10) Play a game at wednesday at 15:00, you will receive stacking "game a day" bonus (I think its +10 silver).
Sorry for not posting any screenshots, but this is hard to put in screenshot, I hope this explanation is sufficient.
Silver coins added this way is really added to your account and it is not just graphical bug.
With the return of Grimm's Crossing, we felt it necessary to honor the map with an array of tournaments. There will be two tournaments taking place over the following weekend; S2 vs Community on Grimm's Crossing starting on 11/20 and a competitive cash tournament on Grimm's Crossing starting on 11/22. Sign up for the S2 vs Community event via the forums and the cash tournament event via HoN Tour!
Sol's Theatre
The map makers have been hard at work refining their maps and making them as fun as possible. Each of them must submit their final maps by 11/19. From there, the HoN team will decide on which map will be chosen the winner and which maps will simply be runner ups. Look forward to the winner being announced on 11/26!
Note: This is update has not yet been reflected on the timeline of the original page!

Or if you use your ult, your Mate can throw it.
I Hope you fix this, because its ****. Please give me a Few Gold Coins for reporting this Bug :D
- the upcoming patch is boring as hell, and not the big balance patch we are all lusting for.
- atm the game is unplayable in Europe, due to server problems
Solution: Stay positive and constructive and use the search function more.
Hey ambitioned HoNers out there. I'm Mark, 26 years old and I'm looking for a team to go competetive with. I'm german, speaking english fluently. I'm playing HoN since beta and hardly made it to 1800 via Solo Q. I did play in a team for several months, yea. We tried pretty hard doing good, I even tried out as captain several times, so I got an idea of what it means to lead 5 people through the game at the same time. It's pretty hard to manage, but it's the key to success. I also wanna make 4 friends to have a good relationship with. Having fun together is also what I look for. But I'm a bit exhausted of organizing the whole clan-thing, you know. Things like reminding people of when the practice times are or being left alone when practice-time starts by people who out of a sudden decide that their real-life now was more important than playing HoN in his/her clan. I don't say that HoN is the most important thing. I just say, if you confirm to come, come. It's about standing by your word man. And I also want to join a group of 3 or 4 people who know each other and played together with several times. I'm not willing to adjust 5 people's gameplays to each other. You guys should have a common game sense already.
So the text above in a nutshell: - 26 years old
- Playing since beta
- 1800 MMR
- Speaking DE/EN
- Playing Mid or Support
- Team is 1800+
- You should be 3 or 4 people knowing each other well and also have played together already
- You take succeding in HoN serious
- You also have fun while playing
- You stand by your word
Answer here or add me ingame. Looking forward having a good time at HoN with you! :)
Wish her all the best! Was a pleasure when I first heard she moved from S2 Games to Riot and the contributions she made will always be remembered!
Hey all,
Up front: as of this month, Ill be leaving Riot Games to explore new opportunities in the next stage of my career.
As a long-time member of the League community, this news might come as a surprise, though I suspect thatll always be the case for people who love their work. Life rarely presents you with the intermissions you need to move on to the next big thing, which is something Ive come to realize as well.
Ive been really lucky to have a lot of creative involvement and hands-on work with some of our League video productions - Champion Spotlights, Patch Rundowns, and gameplay videos like the Final Boss Veigar skits. I think weve gotten these projects to a place where we can really test the limits of gameplay capture (without cinematic or graphical enhancement). That said, Ive been spending more time in my comfort zone than I'd like, finding little things to improve rather than taking on new challenges that really test my limits.
So!
This year is going to be an exciting step for me as I check out whats over the horizon. The League community will always have a place in my heart and Ill still be streaming games when I get the time, so this isnt a goodbye. Honestly speaking, while Im a little nervous for whats in store Im also thrilled to be venturing into the unknown.
See you all on the Rift!
I've already put up a post in the "guides/training grounds" section, but seems like there aren't many people active in that area.
Anyways, I'm looking for someone with video editing experience to contact me. Trying to start something by the end of November.
Send me a private message if you're interested.
